The Green Knight's Gruesome Test
As my guide was taking to where the Green Knight was I could hear him sharping his axe. I was scared out of my mind but I didn't want to show it nor was I gonna give up. When the Green Knight saw me he praised me for being faithful by keeping my promise to meet him here on New Years. I didn't waste any time so I bared my neck for him to strike it. He heaved the heavy axe high to strike me, and I looked up and flinched at the sight of the axe coming down to strike me. The Green Knight stopped his strike and was disappointed in me because I didn't live up to my title "Gawain the glorious." The Green Knight said that he didn't move or flinch when I struck him so he expected the same from me. So I told him to strike again I will not flinch or run away. He picked the axe up again and swung it. I gave no ground or glanced up, but before it reached my neck the Green Knight stopped his strike. I got tired of his threats so I asked him was he to afraid to go through with it. He picked up the axe yet again and guided it well to my bare neck. He cut through the flesh leaving a little scratch. I asked him why he didn't go through with it and he answered saying that he wanted to test the honor of King Arthur's men. He revealed unto me that he was the lord of the castle and that he wouldn't have nicked me if I would have given him the green girdle his wife to me for protection. His wife trying to seduce me was all his idea too. The Green Knight told me that I lack loyalty because if I did have loyalty I would have given him the girdle on the third day and that is why he nicked me on the third swing. But because I feared for my life like any brave knight would he spared me and gave me a gold shimmered girdle, so that I would remember this day. Then the Green Knight invited me to come back next New Year to feast with him in his fair hall.
The lord of the castle and his wife
When I knocked on the door of the castle a man came to the door. I was greeted by the lord of the castle and his lady. The lord of the castle promised to provide me with a guide to the Green Chapel. Before going to bed for the night the lord of the castle and I agreed to exchange whatever we had to each other for the next three days. The first two days I kept my promise with the lord of the castle, but I refused to give him the magic green girdle the lady of the castle gave me for protection. On the final night that I stayed in the castle, the lady of the castle came in and tried to give me a ring to seduce me. I did my best to politely refuse her gift without offending her. If I would have given in to her, I would violated the chivalric code and her marriage with the lord of the castle. The day of the beheading game came and my guide tried to persuade me not to go, but I thought it would be dishonorable not to fulfill my end of the bargain. So I told him I was ready to accept my fate no matter what the outcome was.
The Journey to the Green Chapel
I left for my destination to the Green Chapel a week in advance. As I left, the King and my fellow comrades wished me a safe journey and hope I make it back safely. I journeyed off into the unknown. Only using my instincts to guide me to the dreaded Green Chapel. Along the way I faced many difficult obstacles. I had to use my intellect to cross a pool of quick sand. I shot a bow and arrow with rope attached to it to get to the other side. I had to walk the rest of the way because there was no way my horse could have crossed. It seemed like the journey to the Green Knight's dwelling was a test itself. But I would not be bested by some green fool. I continued on until I reached a cave that I took shelter in. I heard moans and groans going throughout the cave but I thought it was just bats. It turned out to be a cave of an ogre. Then, I caught the ogre slipping and cut its head off. When I finished off the beast I continued onward until I saw an abundant of trees and a big castle. I knew I was close to my destination when I heard something sound like it was sharpening an axe. The Green Knight was preparing for our beheading game.

My First Thoughts about the Green Knight
The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the Green Knight was wow where did he come from and is he actually green. When he challenged our knight's honor and our King Arthur that really ticked me off. I was thinking who is this guy to question my uncle the king and dishonor him like that. That's why I stepped in my uncle's place and accepted the Green Knight's beheading game challenge. When I reached and picked up his axe it was very heavy, but I managed to swing it with all my might. When the axe chopped his head off it rolled on the ground, blood everywhere, and people were hooting and yollering. Then the strangest thing happened his body started to move and it picked up his head and his head started to talk. I was even more amazed and weirded out by this mysterious stranger. My heart suddenly dropped because now he's gonna have a chance to chop my head off. Now I must meet him in a year and a day. I enjoyed the remaining of my year with my loved ones before I was off to meet the Green Knight at his castle.
